Orange County Public Schools has introduced StudentSquare, a dedicated communication platform designed to help students stay updated on school events, shared files, and important notifications. Users can easily access the service by downloading the mobile app for iOS or Android via QR codes or by registering through the official website. To gain entry, students must use their assigned OCPS Gmail address, though they are specifically instructed to manually enter their credentials rather than using the automated Google sign-in link. Ultimately, this tool serves as a centralized hub for campus engagement, offering built-in help resources to ensure students can effectively navigate their new digital classroom environment.
To register and activate your StudentSquare account, you can use the invitation email sent to you, the StudentSquare mobile app, or the ParentSquare website.
Registration Steps
- Enter Your Student Email: Use your official OCPS Gmail address (480#######@students.ocps.net) to begin.
- Mobile App: Download the StudentSquare app (iOS or Android) and enter your email at the top of the sign-in screen.
- Website: Go to www.ParentSquare.com and enter your email address in the "Register" box.
- Invitation Email: If you received an invitation, open it and click Activate your account.
- Verify Your Account: Check your OCPS email for a verification code or link to confirm your identity.
- Create a Password: Once verified, create a secure password and enter it twice to confirm.
- Confirm Identity: Click Register and then select Yes, This is Me to complete the process.
Important Registration Rules
- No Google Sign-In: You cannot use the "Sign in with Google" link at this time, as it is blocked for student accounts.
- Correct Email: You must use the specific email address provided to your school (the 480# address).
Post-Activation Setup
Once your account is active, you can finalize your setup to ensure you receive important communications:
- Add a Phone Number: Go to Manage Account (on the website) or the Menu (hamburger icon on the top-left of the app) and select Edit Account to add your cell phone number.
- Enable Instant Notifications: To get messages as texts, go to Notification Settings and select Instant under the "Text" column for your school.
- No Smartphone? If you do not have a phone, you can access all features through a web browser at www.mystudentsquare.com after you have completed your initial registration.
