The OCVS Student Orientation Course is required for all full-time and flex/ home education students.
This course is a self-paced course designed to prepare students for success in the virtual learning environment. Check your OCPS Gmail for the self-enrollment link.
FAQs for Students
Q: Do I have to finish the orientation before starting my real classes?
A: Yes! You must complete the Student Orientation Course first to understand how OCVS works and what’s expected of you.
Q: How long does the course take to finish?
A: Most students can complete the course in about 45–60 minutes, but you can work at your own pace.
Q: Will I get a grade for this course?
A: No grade is given, but you will submit an acknowledgment at the end to confirm you understand what you’ve learned and receive a certificate that can be submitted to earn enrichment points.
Q: Can I go back to the course later in the year if I forget something?
A: Absolutely! You can revisit the course at any time to refresh your memory or get help.
Q: What if I have a question while I’m taking the orientation?
A: If you're stuck or unsure, reach out to your teacher, counselor, or orientation contact person for help.
Q. I don’t see the course anywhere. Where is it located, or how do I get access to the course?
A. The course is hosted in Canvas. To enroll, students MUST use the self-enrollment link and their 480###### credential to log in and complete the course.
Q. I am in K-5. Am I expected to complete the course on my own?
A. No, K-5 student should complete the course with their learning guide.
