Fall 2026 Application

Orange County Virtual School offers full-time enrollment options for students in grades K-12. Full-time OCVS students are registered as public school students and are required to participate in state and district testing in person at their OCPS school or on the OCVS campus. A full-time student can earn a State of Florida high school diploma with OCVS.  The 26-27 fall term begins in August 2026 and the application is open now!  Choose the link below to apply!

Full-Time Enrollment Criteria

To be accepted as a full-time student with Orange County Virtual School for the spring term of the 2026-2027 school year, students must meet the following criteria:

Grades K-5 criteria:

  1. Reside in Florida
  2. Children who are five years old on or before September 1, 2026, are eligible to start kindergarten in August 2026.
  3. To enter first grade, a child must be six years old on or before September 1 and must have successfully completed kindergarten (Florida Statute 1003.21).
  4. Have demonstrated success in the previous 2 years of school.
  5. State/District testing scores, such as the FAST, FAIR, and other assessments from the last two school years, if available. If the student is entering Kindergarten, no test scores are required

Grades 6-12 criteria:

  1. Reside in Florida
  2. Have demonstrated success in the previous semester's courses (A's, B's, C's). For high school, be on track for credits based upon 9th-grade cohort year.
  3. Have attained grade-level proficiency on at least one of the following standardized tests in the last two school years:
    1. Florida Assessment of Student Thinking Reading (FAST) (level 3 or higher)
    2. Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking Math (BEST) (level 3 or higher)
    3. End-of-Course Exams (EOC) that the student has already taken
    4. PSAT NMSQT (470 Reading and Writing, 430 Math)
    5. SAT Test (490 Reading/Writing tests, 420 Math test)
    6. ACT Test (18 average Reading/English, 16 Math)
    7. CLT Test (39 Reading/English, 14 Math)
    8. Grade level proficiency on an official standardized test administered by another public school system

How to Enroll

Students currently enrolled in an OCPS school: Parents or Guardians only have to submit the online application. Students’ academic history and testing information are already in the database for review. However, you will be contacted if additional information is needed.

Students currently enrolled in a Non-OCPS school: Parents or Guardians must submit students’ academic records (transcripts or report cards), any and all standardized test scores for review. Within a week of the submission date, please submit via email to ocvs@ocps.net. In the subject line, put OCVS Application, the student’s full name, student ID number, and grade. Example: OCVS Application Documents John Smith 480xxxxxxx Grade 11. You will be contacted if additional information is needed.

All students with special needs who currently have an Individual Educational Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan with accommodations must submit copies via email to ocvs@ocps.net within a week of the application submission date. In the subject line, put OCVS Application, the student’s full name, student ID number, and grade. Example: OCVS Application Documents John Smith 480xxxxxxx Grade 11.

Application Notifications

Once opened, Fall: Application closes July 31st, 2026. 

Please note that, with the high volume of applications we receive, we have a schedule below of the expected timeline for notification.

  • If you apply between April 1st and April 30th, expect to be notified by May 15th
  • If you apply between May 1st and May 29th, expect to be notified by June 11th
  • If you apply June 1st - June 25th, expect to be notified by July 17th
  • If you apply July 1st - July 17th, expect to be notified by July 31st
  • If you apply July 18th - July 31st expect to be August 7th
