Accelerated Reader

Accelerated Reader is a computer-based program that schools may use to monitor reading practice and progress. It helps teachers guide students to books that are at their individual reading levels.  K-5 students take short quizzes after reading a book to check if they’ve understood it. Accelerated Reader is available on the OCPS launchpad in the Library Research Tools folder.

Orange County Library System Virtual Library Card

The virtual library card gives OCPS K-12 students access to literature, music, science, and tutoring. K-5 students have access to e-books, languages and research. Middle and high school students can access career guidance, e-books, history,  literature, research, tech skills, and test prep. The virtual library card is available on the OCPS launchpad in the Library Research Tools folder.

Sora

Sora was designed around the modern student reading experience. It empowers students to discover and enjoy ebooks and audiobooks from their school, for both leisure and class-assigned reading. Sora is available on the OCPS launchpad in the Library Research Tools folder.

Bean Stack

Beanstack is a web and mobile app used to track independent reading time, and help build a culture of reading in school and at home. Beanstack makes it easier for parents and teachers to help students track reading, keep motivated to read, and provide feedback and insights into reading habits. Bean Stack is available on the OCPS launchpad.

Epic

Epic is an online children's subscription book service offering immediate, on-demand access to over 40,000 high-quality illustrated books and chapter books for K-12 students. First 30 days are free.
