Summer enrollment is open to all students who are approved by their school counselor.

After a student registers for a course and it is approved by their school counselor, they will be contacted by their OCVS instructor and may begin working as soon as the course is approved.

Yes, we understand that unexpected situations can delay your progress. Be sure to stay in regular contact with your OCVS instructor to adjust your timeline, stay on track, and meet your completion goal.

No. Students work through course content independently—anytime, anywhere and assignments are due each week according to the student’s pace chart. Teachers provide support through scheduled live lessons, which are also recorded, and by-request tutoring sessions

Be prepared for Discussion-Based Assessments (DBAs), which are oral assessments with teachers.

For the best learning experience, students should use a laptop or desktop computer. Courses can be accessed on mobile devices, tablets, or iPads; however, some materials may not be fully available on these devices.

Students enrolled in Algebra, Geometry, Civics, Biology, or U.S. History must take the End-of-Course (EOC) exam, as it counts for 30% of the final course grade.
Testing will occur at the start of the 2026–27 school year. For exact dates and additional information, please work with your school’s testing coordinator. -
Families should review the student’s 2026–27 schedule with their home-zoned school to confirm that any summer coursework—whether in progress or already completed for credit—is not scheduled again.
