Guidance Counselors

Stephanie Walker (Lead Counselor/Grade 12)
Mrs. Walker attended Florida State University after graduating high school and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She started teaching math at West Orange High School in 1998 and then a few years later became the SAFE Coordinator. During this time she attended UCF and earned her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. She began working at Ocoee High School when it opened in 2005 as the SAFE Coordinator and then changed positions to become a guidance counselor. Mrs. Walker is a native Floridian, is married and has a son. She enjoys cheering her son on at his lacrosse games, spending time with friends and family, reading, and traveling.

Amanda Johnson (Grades 6-8)
Mrs. Johnson is a Middle School Guidance Counselor for OCVS. She is a Florida native and proud graduate of the University of Florida where she earned her B.S. in Communication Disorders. While working as a reading teacher in OCPS she obtained her Master’s degree in Counseling from Barry University. As a Nova Southeastern University Doctoral graduate, she passionately believes that every student can learn when they are equipped with the tools necessary for their educational journey.

Kalyn Colson (Elementary/Grades 9-11)
Ms. Colson is a UCF Knight graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She also attended Palm Beach Atlantic University where she received a Master’s of Science in Counseling Psychology (School Counseling). She is a proud Florida grown native! She attended Olympia High School where she assisted as a football manager and was a member of the step team. She has worked with students, ages 0-18, and loves to help students prepare for their future. She believes that every student has what it takes to be successful, especially if they have the right guidance and necessary support.
