Do Something Club

Club Sponsor: Mrs. Lyon

This club is focused on community service. Students once a month get together to change the world they live in. Whether it be collecting items, sorting donations, or serving food, we help where our community is in need!

Descriptions of Do Something Club past events, some of which we will be participating in again this school year:

Second Harvest - We volunteered at the food bank warehouse, inspecting and categorizing donated food products (such as dry goods and produce) as well as bagging, boxing, or repacking items to ready for distribution.

Toys & Toiletries – We collected new unwrapped toys and toiletries for the Women and Children’s Homeless Shelter; then delivered them

Clean the World – We served an essential role in their mission by pre-sorting hygiene products for recycling and packing them for distribution.

Ronald McDonald – We collected items for a month that the facility told us they were in need of, sorted them at school into goody bags and boxes per Ronald McDonald house guidelines, delivered to house that day and received a tour of the facility.

Give Kids the World Village – We worked the cafeteria in capacities such as serving food to children & their families, helping carry trays, cleaning tables, cleaning dishes in the kitchen, and throwing away trash. Others worked as face painters. There are many areas of service at this location!

ASPCA Pet Collection – We collected items for one month that the facilities said they were in need of for pets.
